WHAT’S YOUR BRIDAL BOUQUET STYLE WITH HARRIET PARRY

I say multi-talented because Harriet is not only an amazing floral designer but also an artist who can produce bespoke miniature watercolours of bouquets. A nice way to cherish your bridal bouquet style long after all the flower petals have dropped and the leaves withered.

RUSTIC
For a rustic take on a bridal bouquet go with slightly more unusual varieties of flowers, such as thistles, hypericum berries and kangaroo paw. Deep burgundy, mustard and navvy tones work well. combine with dried flowers such as lavender and scabious pods which make an interesting contrast. Add a touch of twisted willow or magnolia branch and you get a really chic take on wild. Keep your foliage on the deeper side of green with asparagus fern and long ruscus. The flowers and foliage should be arranged in an unkept style, leaving the stems loose and slightly longer. Finish with natural string or hessian for a highland chic bridal look.

VINTAGE CHIC
Pale colours and soft foliages work best if your bridal bouquet style is vintage. Combine soft pink garden roses with baby blue delphiniumn and mauve and blush toned flowers. Choose varieties that are whimsical and delicate such as astrantia, wax flower and peonies. Eucalptus with its silvery turquoise tone really adds to the vintage vibe. Your bouquet shouldn’t be too big and flowers arranged in a loose fashion, finished with long trailing satin ribbon in a shade to match your colour palette.

COLOUR POP
Colour Pop bouquets are fun, playful and anything goes. Team a variety of flowers, all colours of the rainbow with different shapes, sizes and textures. Choose trailing amaranths, hot pink Carnations, lime green anthriums, with bright yellow craspedia balls. These can be arranged in a variety of ways, bold and compact or wild and free, stems left loose or stems tied in. This bouquet is all about being experimental. A combination of multi coloured trailing ribbons add to the bohemian vibe!

CLASSIC
A classic domed bouquet is timeless. Flowers can be either mixed or of a single variety, such as all roses or hydrangeas or gypsolphilia that tie in with your colour scheme. I often choose not to use foliage in a design like this, as I think the flowers speak for themselves. With a domed bouquet I always feel that the stems work tied in with a beautiful satin ribbon and finished with pearl pins. A classic bouquet is a very elegant option for the bride or wants to radiant understated glamour.
