To be honest today’s advice is not something I had even thought of but this is why I lean on the experts! As well as introducing you to Weddings by Driven, today’s post also features expert tips from both them and Patrick Couderc of luxury fashion house Herve Leger – more on that shortly!

And as such they pointed out that two crucial considerations that are often overlooked are how to nail a mishap-free exit in the wedding dress and how to choose a car that matches the overall feel and style of the wedding. I’m going to hand over to Sevin with her wealth of experience to give us her top tips.

1. The dress…the sartorial centre piece of the wedding determines the choice of car – no question. The bride needs to sit in the back seat comfortably and reflect en route. Rolls Royce Phantoms with coach style doors give plenty of room for larger full skirted designs. Vintage cars deliver on glamour and a stunning “look” but not on leg room – consider dress and height of the bride before opting for a retro exit.

2. The journey –the length from home to the venue is crucial for comfort consideration – modern cars are bigger and better equipped for longer rides. Short journeys are perfect for a vintage car retro glamour arrival.

3. The Season – Air conditioning for a Summer wedding is a must, and newer models of luxury car have this as standard. Vintage brides could opt for a classic convertible as an alternative, weather permitting of course.

4. The “Clock” – timing is everything– it’s absolutely crucial that the small print of how long you have the vehicle for matches not only the pick up and drop off, but photography prior to departing for the ceremony and inevitable cumulative delays. Cost cutting on time bracket can be risky and stressful.

5. The Extras – In this social media driven age, allowing us to share real time memories with family or friends that can’t make it to the big day, is important. Keep feet and toes together so you can delicately swing legs into the car
Don’t complicate things by trying to hold bouquet or accessories, hand these all to your chauffeur
Watch the hair, place a hand gently above your head to to act as a guide for the headroom available
Relax let your team collect the train, check your make up, hand back your bouquet and snap your exit.
