COLOUR CODE – VINTAGE GOLD WEDDING THEME
As promised, today I’ll show you around the other half of my stand at A Most Curious Wedding Fair which had a vintage gold wedding theme. I hope you like it!
Taking inspiration from an open air theatre performance, I wanted the table set up to be fitting for Fairy Queen Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other worldly, romantic with lots of quirky touches.
Setting the tone, the delightful Elle Is For Love’s Rustic Woodland Range stationery suite (link). And as if by magic the rest came together as below.
I presumed like most other fabrics I’ve purchased that gold lace would be easy to find and relatively cheap – how wrong I was! Do shop around until you find your perfect fabric for the table runners.
Pussy Willow doesn’t seem to be used all that often for weddings but the long branches look great stuffed into gold birdcages.
Possibly the most talked about item of my stand were these gold macaroons. A little cheat with these, I bought a selection of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry macaroons and sprayed them with edible gold food spray. I used the Dr Oerker spray which you can pick up in most supermarkets – www.oetker.co.uk
Final touch, the place settings and I created this glittery gold bride sign after spying a fab tutorial on Oh Happy Day (link)
