THURSDAY THREADS – CHARLIE BREAR 2016 COLLECTION

For the Charlie Brear 2016 collection, the eponymous British label has sought inspiration from two pivotal fashion moments – the late 1970s and New Romanticism. “I have always been drawn to the whimsical silhouettes of the 1970s and the glamour of the New Romantics, so wanted to reference both this season. Think Studio 54 meets The Blitz Club!” says founder and designer Charlie Brear.

“We’ve worked with beautiful fabrics including soft tulles, weightless chiffons, luxe satins, sand-washed silks and lace, and, as usual, everything is made in the UK” continues Charlie.

Fashion conscious brides will love the clever juxtapositions of femininity with androgyny that have been a key trend throughout the wider fashion world this year.

Layering has long been a staple within Charlie Brear bridal collections, as Charlie herself explains “Starting with a simple crepe, satin or chiffon dress and layering everything from sequinned overdresses and tiered skirts, allows brides to build and customise a bespoke look that’s in keeping with their personal style.” With over 40 pieces in the collection it’s easy to create a totally unique bridal style all of your own.
