SUNDAY LOVES – GO GLITTER GIRL

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday and as my friends will tell you I’m a little obsessed with stars and sparkle so of course my celebrations could only have one theme – ‘All That Glitters.’ I thought I would share some of the details with you dear readers in the hope it ignites some wedding or hen party inspiration.
INVITATION
Glamour, costume and gloss have become lost in this reality obsessed age but I wanted my invitations at least to conjure up thoughts of a bygone era, where film wasn’t ruled by special effects and Hollywood was Tinsel Town.
ACCESSORISE
Style is a collaboration and I worked with the phenomenal Janet from Rene Walrus on my birthday crown. Brides I highly recommend working on something bespoke for your wedding day style with a designer that truly understands your vision (if you don’t feel 100% comfortable find someone else) and of course I cannot sing Rene Walrus‘s praises loud enough. Just witness what she made for me – AMAZE.
DECOR & DETAILS
I may have overdosed on spray mount and glitter, sparkle-fying all manner of things from skulls to foam stars, I even had glittery tealight candles! And to entertain my lovely pals I had a prop box full of glitter moustaches on sticks, star tattoos and 80’s visors. Brides keep your theme seamless and carry it through down to the last napkin (if you hadn’t guessed mine were silver stars).
Instead of a traditional cake I made cakepops (with a sprinkle of glitter obviously) and the Happy Birthday candles formed the cakepop sticks.
And cut all the sandwiches into star shapes…
So there you have it, happy Sunday my Bijou starlets from a 30 year old me!
