GET THE LOOK – SPRING WEDDING MAKEUP TIPS FROM JULES CARDOZO-MARSH
Did you catch style maven Olivia Palermo in Brides Magazine? Major girl crush. Olivia is always flawless and this cover shoot was no exception, rocking a soft spring look that I’m sure you brides-to-be will be coveting. Luckily we have expert Jules Cardozo-Marsh on hand to share her top Spring wedding makeup tips and help us all get the look.
It’s never too late to start looking after your skin so, if you haven’t already done so book in for a facial now. At home try Rodial’s 5 Minute Facial, which deep cleanses the skin and gently exfoliates for a brighter, youthful complexion, one of my favourite bath time treats. If you’re after a really intense facial workout I swear by Sarah Chapman’s Facialift, it may look daunting with it’s 8 heads and 48 massaging nodules but this promises to reshape, refine and tone your face, leaving it fresh, plumped and youthful. Use in conjunction with Sarah’s Overnight Facial Oil, great for calming stressed out skin.
So we have got your face looking gorgeous and fresh, now for those all important spring wedding makeup tips.
1. Luminous, radiant skin is what most brides ask me for and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is one of the best and delivers every time. A lightweight, silky foundation that glides onto the skin.
2. Pink and metallic tones were spotted on the catwalk so think romantic, pretty natural make-up. Not that we want to match flowers to make-up but take inspiration from the colour theme of your wedding, a pop of colour on the lips or eyes (not both) works wonders. For kissable lips try Chanel Rouge Allure in Extatique, Shea butter and canola oil help keep the lips soft and hydrated ready for all that kissing.
3. Bobbi Brown’s Nude Glow Spring Collection 2014 is fabulous and creates a flawless natural radiant look that’s perfect for the modern bride. Try working in the Nude eye palette for a natural look but play up the outer corner of the eye by smudging in a little metallic in cement sparkle, run underneath the eye, close to the lash line and apply a soft brown kohl for added definition. Eyebrows shape and define a face so book in for a last minute shape and tint. A quick fix if you haven’t had time to tame those brows try a slick of clear brow gel. At home try HD Brow Beater a lightweight setting gel.
4. For a soft cheek try patting in Stila Convertible Colour in Peony on the apples of your cheeks, a great multipurpose product that can be used on the lips. If you can’t possibly live without applying your bronzer (we know you apply it all over your face with a large brush) try contouring instead by applying a matt bronzer under your cheekbone, on the temples and down the side of your nose. Try organic brand Dr Hauschka a staple in my make-up kit and it smells divine.
5. What better way to attract your groom than by fluttering those eyelashes, my all time favourite is Diorshow Mascara, this mascara gives you luxurious, thick lashes. Try sealing your mascara by applying Bare Minerals Locked & Coated Waterproof Lash Topcoat, perfect if your mascara isn’t waterproof and great for taking on your Honeymoon.
