SPRING 2016 BRIDAL TRENDS REPORT
At the recent New York Bridal Week presentations, designers were looking not only to their couture inspirations but also street style trends. As a result there are some edgier wedding dress styles coming into play for Spring/ Summer 2016 brides.
WAS IT ALL AN ILLUSION?
Starting with the prettiest look of the season – illusion detailing, one trend that’s not budging. Whether fragile lace with a nude underlay, as spotted at Carolina Herrera or gossamer fine tops with heavy embellishments, you’ll find illusion everywhere.
A FLASH OF WAIST
Sported by fashionistas and street style stars right now this is one of those edgier Spring 2016 bridal trends I was speaking of. A small hint or a bigger statement of your flat waisted achievements, two piece bridal outfits are the contemporary bride’s must.
TAKE THE PLUNGE
Continuing with the flashing of flesh, plunging necklines were popping up all over the New York catwalks. It’s a case of how low can you go? The most extreme answer coming from J. Mendel. Whilst Ines Di Santo made the trend more accessible with nude modesty panels and delicate lace trim.
DROP THE WAIST
Another high street style (popularised by Victoria Beckham), the dropped waist line is coming to the bridal fore in Spring 2016. When you’re wedding dress shopping, make sure you try this one as it is surprisingly flattering.
