BRIDAL WORTHY LOOKS FROM THE PARIS COUTURE SPRING 2014 SHOWS
Paris Couture Spring 2014 cropped up with its usual front row controversy, Kim Kardashian’s pap flash and Cara’s craziness amongst others. But if you were lost in the tittle tattle then you missed some amazing bridal worthy dresses.
The most exciting event for me was the return of the much revered Schiaparelli label. Marco Zanini is at the helm (he also heads up Rochas) and although I was a little disappointed not to see Schiaparelli’s signature bias cut 30’s gowns, these modern billowing evening dresses are a knock out.
Alien mermaids as I’ve dubbed them, were spotted at Chanel and Armani Prive, where there were futuristic styles cut from glistening fabrics.
Sci-fi influences also gripped other designers perhaps hopefully looking to the future as the world moves out of recession. Giant ruffles ahoy.
Predictably I had to end with an Elie Saab number, the wedding world’s favourite.
