BIJOU REVIEWS – OX PASTURE HALL HOTEL
A couple of week’s ago Mr Bijou and I took a trip to Ox Pasture Hall Hotel. It was an invitation we couldn’t refuse, the opportunity to escape our building site of a house, enjoy some fresh air and have a bath! Nuzzled amongst the trees at the top of a sweeping driveway this was our first impression.
Beautiful isn’t it. Ox Pasture encapsulated pure English country romance with its roaring fires, wild flower gardens and buckets of rustic charm. It was easy to see what made this one of Yorkshire’s most desirable wedding venues. The hotel is set in over fifteen acres of enchanting gardens and grounds amongst the famed North Yorkshire Moors National Park. And if leisurely walks appreciating the rolling countryside aren’t your cup of tea, seaside fun in Scarborough is only a few minutes away. So there is plenty to entertain any wedding group. Unfortunately we didn’t get around to much of either the walking or tourism but we did manage the leisure. It was a true and very welcome escape from the city smog and hustle and bustle.
Don’t let the rustic charm fool you though, Ox Pasture Hall Hotel is a luxurious destination. We were particularly impressed with the restaurant food, especially the offerings for vegetarians no tomato pasta or cheese tarts in sight! After an exceptional three courses we virtually had to roll back to our room.
I took a peek at the wedding spaces too which you could easily fashion to suit your needs. Whether it’s a beautiful outdoor ceremony followed by a BBQ feast or evoking rustic romance within the Hall’s Barn there is plenty to choose from. I particularly liked the garden gazeboes which I would style for fun evening food stations and entertainment.
If you’re in need of a winter break or are looking for a Yorkshire wedding venue I highly advise you to check out – www.oxpasturehallhotel.com
