NKOTWB – RITA COLSON BRIDAL DESIGNER

Introducing Rita Colson. It has been a little while since we’ve showcased a NKOTWB (New Kid On The Wedding Block) but this creative West London fashion designer cannot be ignored.
The Rita Colson 2017 debut Bridal Collection look book was captured by one of my favourite fine art photographer’s Cecelina Photography at former chapel and instagram hot spot, The Asylum in Peckham. That raw, textured space with its abundance of natural light was the perfect juxtapose to the softness of the satin and silk crepe designs. The old as a backdrop for the new.
And these cold shoulder pleats are certainly something I haven’t seen before. So statement but with the streamlined gown it is not over the top.
Rita explains “My debut collection is inspired by my love of bold silhouettes, vintage, and playful textures. A collection that celebrates the craftsmanship of intricate beading, appliqué of 3D flowers over lace cleverly styled and put together.” I personally love these little jackets too. In my planner life I’m working on more and more Autumn and Winter weddings and these are such nice alternatives to a fur stole or fluffy wrap.
It is a well-crafted, elegant bridal collection that has a sense of luxury. Not trend led but still thoroughly suited to the modern bride. There’s even this wonderful jumpsuit design. I wish I could wear a palazzo pant! And importantly all the materials used to create these bespoke one of a kind pieces are ethically sourced and sustainable.
The Rita Colson 2017 Bridal Collection is available as both a made-to-measure and customisable service. Alternatively you can also head to Rita’s West London based for a fully bespoke wedding dress service. To see more of the collection and find your nearest boutique, head to – www.ritacolson.com
