NKOTWB – HERMIONE DE PAULA
This new bridal label will blow your socks off, allow me to introduce you to Hermione de Paula.
Earning her stripes working at the iconic design houses Christian Dior Couture, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and Giles; Hermione de Paula made her own label debut at London Fashion Week in 2009. The brand quickly became renowned for hand drawn intricate prints across women’s ready to wear, soft furnishings and accessories but now it’s time for something new. Launched on the official day of Love, Valentine’s Day, Hermione is now venturing into the world of bespoke Bridal.
The bespoke bridal designs manage to weave in the feeling of the hand-drawn with exquisite flora and fauna embroidered patterns. An exotic take on the traditional English Country garden wedding scene.
It’s no wonder wild flowers and unstructured floral arrangements are the backdrop for these look book images. If you haven’t already guessed Rebel Rebel were responsible for the real life flora and fauna.
Hermione’s first wedding dress was designed for close friend Pippa who tied the knot within a stunning garden scape in the South of France. Clearly this ignited a passion in the designer for romantic modern bridal wear that teases you to take a look-closer. There are secret messages, disguised flowers and paradisiacal prints for you to find girls!
These embroidered custom messages make me really excited and also sad that I didn’t incorporate the idea into my own Wedding dress. Perhaps I’ll be calling on Hermione to design me a gown for my vow renewal next year, mind you it will probably take me that long to decide on a suitable message!
