REAL BIJOU BRIDE – JEN’S LUXE RAINY BEACH WEDDING
Hello Bijou brides – I’m back in the land of the connected after a hectic house move. As I cope without an oven, TV, shower and life’s little luxuries I need escapism and today’s wedding is pure glamour. If my house move has taught me anything it’s that some things are just beyond your control. The weather might not be perfect for your big day but to quote Louis Armstrong “when you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you”.
“In my many years of shooting weddings, I have never seen a couple actually rained on and drenched during a ceremony… until this one. It might sound like a bad thing, but Jen and John made it an incredibly sweet moment, laughing and running for cover” says photographer Paige Winn. I love that everyone braved the rainy beach wedding ceremony together and I’m sure there were lots of giggles on the sprint back to the shelter at Palmetto Dunes.
Despite the weather this wedding was pretty as a picture with a soft beachy pastel pink and blue colour scheme.
Florist Urban Poppy incorporated drift wood to create unique centrepieces for each guest dining table.
And the beach accents continued with holiday postcards used as an alternative to the standard guest book.
Bride Jen looked incredible in her Monique Lhuillier wedding gown. Wearing her hair in an elegant up do was a wise choice given the wind and rain that followed.
Tuxedos were the only choice to compliment the dreamy luxe wedding dress.
And if you’re worried about rainy beach wedding pics, take a leaf out of Jen’s book and have a newlywed session. Any excuse to put that beautiful gown on again!
