SUNDAY LOVES – LONDON FASHION WEEK’S BEST BITS

I have to start off this week’s Sunday Love with some news… Bijou is getting a fresh new look! Every girl needs one now and again and I cannot wait to share it with you all. Sadly a redesign means that I will be unable to post over the next week whilst we ‘Fix Up, Look Sharp’ but it will be worth it. Trust me. Hopefully today’s look back at London Fashion Week’s best bits will keep you inspired during my absence.

One of the most exciting shows of the week for me was Giles RTW Fall 2013, a haute couture pyjama party. Regular Bijou readers will know how much I admire Giles Deacon’s creativity, laser cut patterns and skills with a bunsen burner! My favourite look from the collection is this billowing sleeved, gothic nightgown which I can totally see Florence Welch rocking on a red carpet.

Over at Temperley, the design house had clearly been taking notes from 1960’s starlet Tippi Hedren and the recent HBO show ‘The Girl’ with its stunning 1960’s inspired collection. Bright white driving gloves, funnel necklines and a splattering of precious stones it has to be one of London Fashion Week’s best bits.

And I couldn’t resist another more literal ‘The Birds’ interpretation from Temperley, a drop dead gorgeous gown with wing like embellishment.

And from polished 1960’s perfection to models that looked like they’d been attacked by a flock of birds. Julien Macdonald’s RTW Fall 2013 collection featured long fringing details and the usual glitz and glamour you expect from the designer juxtaposed with dishevelled hairstyles.

Finally it appears the caped crusader look is here to stay with Marios Schwab teaming party frocks with clean cut capes. I am such a fan of the cape but have yet to find them on the High Street.
