THURSDAY THREADS – JOHANNA JOHNSON SPRING 2014 MUSE COLLECTION
Remember the copper, bronze and gold metallic wedding style board I featured last week (check it out here if you missed it) , well this is the wedding dress that inspired it.
To die for isn’t it! It’s just one of the wondrous gowns taken from the new Johanna Johnson Spring 2014 bridal collection unveiled at the NYC bridal market. Dubbed the ‘Muse collection’, for me it conjures up images of Gatsby type goddesses floating betwixt a glamourous crowd, capturing everyone’s hearts and being the most enviable girl in the room.
The opulent designs display the odd architectural influence in their panel silk structures. A refreshingly modern twist for the much loved slinky, deco inspired wedding dress.
Australian bridal designer Johanna was inspired by the architecture of New York city, the building blocks of Art Deco. From the elegance of the Chrysler Building to the empress of the city, The Empire State Building, this collection is built on the construction of embellished beaded designs, panelled silk gowns, detailed French laces and reflective metallic silhouettes.
The signature decadent embellishments are not lacking in the new Johanna Johnson Spring 2014 bridal collection, from crystal dripping shoulder details to lustworthy beading around necklines and waists.
