COUTURE BRIDAL INSPIRATION FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK
Let’s dream big ladies with couture bridal inspiration from the Paris runways. All the top designer dogs paraded their most extravagant creations and I want to share my favourites with you, so we can be in awe together. Starting with the best Couture show hands down, Ralph & Russo. There was a surprising amount of variety in this small collection but these shades of lilac were the most bridal worthy.
KAFTAN QUEENS
Zuhair Murad amped up the sequin content at Paris Fashion Week with gown after gown covered in divine embellishment.
RED & BLACK WEDDING DRESSES
Giorgio Armani was taking a leaf out of Vera Wang’s book providing us with scarlet and black wedding dress inspiration. These bold colours certainly aren’t for every bride but can we talk about the veils. This proves that they can be more than just a plain layer of white and doesn’t tulle netting (usually the reserve of the birdcage veil) look knock out in longer lengths.
SHORTER STYLES
There were a lot of column inches dedicated to Chanel’s pregnant bride wedding dress design but I actually found the shorter styles far more inspirational. The below reminds me of Fearne Cotton’s wedding dress with the heavily beaded decolletage but take note of the silver leaf hem.
DIP DYE
Dip dye and ombre effects are an ongoing wedding trend and Giambattista Valli shows how you can incorporate it into your bridal style.
STAND OUT STRAPS
Wide, leather straps were bound around Valentino’s romantic floral gowns, a pretty take on Game of Thrones style.
Valentino used silver to make an asymmetric statement.
BEST IN SHOW – THE MUST SEE COUTURE WEDDING DRESSES
Bold silver patterns, big skirts and Princess Diana worthy trains closed the show at Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad and Ralph & Russo. I’ve mentioned it before but these dresses wouldn’t look out of place in a Disney Frozen wedding scene!
