CELEBRITY BRIDE – SOFIA COPPOLA

This summer has provided a veritable windfall in beautiful celebrity weddings and this past weekend the eminent, Academy Award winning director Sofia Carmina Coppola married her rock star boyfriend Thomas Mars in Bernalda, Italy. If you’ve seen any of her movies – Lost In Translation, The Virgin Suicide, Somewhere, Marie Antoinette – you’ll appreciate that her wedding day could only be a similar mix of seemingly effortless style and a beautiful colour palette.

The couple married in an intimate ceremony at Coppola’s family villa joined by their closest friends and family Saturday 27th August.

This was Sofia’s second marriage, she was previously married to another talented director Spike Jonze, but rather than ignore the fact her father Francis Ford Coppola poured the guests wine from his own vineyard of the same vintage as Sofia’s first wedding. This time round bride Sofia wore a divine Azzedine Alaïa short lavender chiffon dress with black strappy sandals.

Sofia and Thomas’s simply scrumptious daughters Romy and Cosima were on hand as their flower girls, wearing matching white dresses with turquoise satin bows and flower garland headbands.
