THURSDAY THREADS – BOURET MARIEE COLLECTION
Spanish label Bouret is the fashion baby of two designer friends Noela Rivera and Vanessa Datorre. This talented duo have just launched their debut bridal collection, entitled Bouret Mariee. Influenced by their grandmothers’ unexpected vintage treasures – shawls, lingerie, tablecloths and nightshirts. At least it’s a little different, let’s see what you think.
Inspired by their ‘grandmothers’ trousseau’ the collection rescues vintage lingerie silhouettes from the archives and gives them a bridal twist.
In their own words “we wanted to create a line of dresses imbibed by romanticism and nostalgia. We picture the wearer of our gowns in a Georgian bucolic setting with a classic romantic atmosphere.”
The Bouret Mariee collection has been produced with great attention to detail from tiny silk covered buttons to a delicate Chantilly lace bodice.
Making up the Bouret Mariee collection are a selection of vintage inspired bridal accessories. The high neck ruffle cape (which is very Jane Austen) is something I’ve not seen anywhere else. Use it to create a totally separate ceremony look when worn over a wedding dress. A similar idea with the antique gold lace bolero.
