BIJOU BRIDE – KAY’S VINTAGE STYLE

Today’s lovely couple Kay and JP wanted their wedding to have a Vintage Garden Party feel. In a unique twist to get all the family involved they chose to do all the decorations and flowers themselves. In bride Kay’s words “It was a fantastic experience to have all my step-parents and in laws enjoying dinner round the same table and discussing the plans… It made the whole thing feel really personal.“
THE BRIDE
Finding your wedding dress can be a minefield of stress and disappointment, luckily Kay had a friend recommend Collette Dinnigan. Kay loved everything in the showroom but choose this stunning beaded dress “from her 2007 collection and the only one left in the world, so it felt a little more special.“
GROOM & USHERS
Looking chic in simple black and white choosing bow ties for that vintage vibe. Groom JP had his suit made by Dress2Kill.
BRIDESMAIDS
Kay encountered a very typical problem “It was hard buying for my sisters, as they are very different shapes and my youngest is self conscious.” The ladies eventually found the perfect dresses from Vanessa Bruno on Net-A-Porter. The muted shades perfectly fitted with the vintage vibe Kay wanted for her big day.
HAIR & MAKE UP
Kay accessorised her beautiful twisted up do with a Jenny Packham hair comb.
WORDS OF WISDOM
Over to the lovely Kay for her bride-to-be pearls of wisdom… “My tip would be not to allow anyone to push you around on your day. We had been to a lot of of weddings where we noticed the photographer dictating to the bride and groom on where to go next and what to do next. This was not how we wanted our day to be. Luckily, Natalie was very relaxed and our prior meetings & the pre wedding shoot meant that we all knew each other & had discussed in detail what each other wanted and needed to be able to work together for some beautiful photographs!”
I advise all Bijou brides and grooms to meet your photographer well in advance of your wedding day. Go armed with a selection of photos you like the style or composition of to give the photograper a full understanding of what you want.
