CLOSE UP – BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK 2014
Barcelona Bridal week 2014 didn’t disappoint as Europe’s best loved designers showed off their Spring 2015 collections. Obviously the wedding dresses were amazing but I wanted to share a close up view of the all important details and future trends.
Firstly there is a new focus on sleeves and more importantly the cuff. Lace, bows, buttons and ruffles will all be prettifying wrists in 2015.
Brides shake a tail feather with this next style spot. Fluffy feather details worked their way into nearly all the bridal designer collections from full feather skirts at Pronovias to diminutive plumage at Patricia Avendano.
Lace has always been a popular choice with brides but bridal designers are finding news ways to use it as an accent rather than overall dress fabric. Hannibal Laguna created interested asymmetric sleeves, Miquel Suay used panels of delicate lace to dress backs and Victorio & Lucchino dotted peek a boo lace throughout their Spring 2015 collection.
Finally, Gold is the new blush. The designers at Barcelona Bridal Week 2014 certainly had the midas touch whether adorning wedding dresses with gold beadwork or crafting them from luxurious golden silks. And it seems any shade goes from rose gold to antique.
