AUTUMN WEDDING FLOWER IDEAS FROM JOANNE TRUBY FLORAL DESIGN
Knitwear is back in our wardrobes, the fires are toasting our tootsies and the leaves are falling – Autumn is such a romantic season. The very lovely Joanne Truby is back sharing her expert advice with some Autumn Wedding flower ideas to make your big day pure pretty.
I love the warm colours that Autumn brings; burnt oranges, yellows, reds and burgundies are probably one of my most favourite colour pallets. With that in mind I wanted to share with you our Autumn flower guide, showcasing what this beautiful season has to offer.
Dahlia’s come out in force during the late summer & Autumn months and I have to say they are one of my favourite flowers of the Autumn season. The colours are so stunning from vibrant reds, oranges, pinks, corals, purples they really do add the ‘wow’ factor to flower arrangements. The British Dahlia’s pictured below have huge size heads on them too perfect for larger size displays like urns or archways.
Another wonderful thing about Autumn is the textures, the berries viburnum and blackberries to name just a couple. The darker toned foliages such as continus and the seeded eucalyptusis at its best this time of year. Sanguisorba is a great filler flower too for adding a final finishing touch to designs. Cosmos, which comes in punchy pinks, reds and whites and my favourite variety chocolate which would you believe actually smells of chocolate too! Both pictured below with an array of other ingredients including red anenomes which start to come back into season during September and crocosmia available in yellows and burnt orange.
So Autumn, not too shabby after all? Here’s to Autumn leaves, conkers, pumpkins and of course flowers.
