ANNIVERSARY PRESENTS – A FEW BIJOU IDEAS

You know I love to shop but when it comes to present buying I am stumped.  Bags of Love Anniversary presents are particularly tricky and seem to come round so quickly.  Bijou brides let me give you a heads up on the symbols and therefore the theme of your first few future anniversaries:

Year One: Paper

Year Two: Cotton

Year Three: Leather

Year Four: Linen

 Hhhmmmmm… tricky.  Personally I think it is a nice touch to incorporate something of your Wedding day in your anniversary present choice and celebration.  You could wear part of your original Wedding attire such as shoes or cufflinks, the actual Wedding dress out would definitely attract attention!  Other ideas could include doing your make up or hair in a similar style as your Wedding day, drinking the same wine or cocktail, making the same meal or visiting the same hotel you spent your Wedding night in.  But I digress let’s get back to the presents, here are some ideas so take note ladies and gents.

YEAR ONE: PAPER

You will hear people joke ‘divorce papers’ which quite frankly is not funny.  A personalised desk calendar featuring photos of you together with the month of your Wedding Anniversary being a Wedding photo of course.

Other ideas would be a customised notebook or a hardback photo book.

YEAR TWO: COTTON

Lots of ideas for this one how about a photo printed on cotton canvas, customised tea towels, bags or matching hoodies.

YEAR THREE: LEATHER

His and Her’s passport wallets, keychains, luggage.

YEAR FOUR: LINEN

By Linen I would take this to mean in essence Bedding so your choices could be matching pillows or cushions.

YEAR FIVE: WOOD

So this is the one Mr Bijou and I just celebrated, we received some fabulous Anniversary gifts following the wood theme – a wooden heart chopping board, decorative bark hearts for the garden, wooden chopsticks and photo frames.  Another fun idea would be a wooden jigsaw puzzle featuring a picture of you both.
