ALERT – ST PANCRAS RENAISSANCE WEDDING EVENT
Wedding fairs can be a bit monotonous after a while so it’s nice to see a venue approaching things in a new light. Next weekend you could partake in a St Pancras Renaissance wedding journey, exploring one of London’s most iconic buildings.
In the 1960s, Sir George Gilbert Scott’s neo-gothic Midland Grand Hotel was described as being “too beautiful and too romantic to survive.” Thankfully after a hiatus it’s been lovingly renovated and I often find myself admiring its grandeur whilst devouring delicacies in the Hansom lounge!
On Sunday 9th March 2014, the hotel will open its doors to invite couples to experience firsthand what their wedding could look like. During the ‘Wedding Journey’, you will be guided through the building to explore all of the key spaces. Ascend the famous Grand Staircase (if it looks familiar that’s because it’s featured in tonnes of music videos such as that pop classic’Wannabe’!), be led through to The Gallery and a ceremony set up, sip on champagne and sample canapés in the historical Ladies Smoking Room amongst other delights. Vintage lovers and fans of incredible architecture should definitely go take a look.
The hotel’s wedding planners will be on hand to provide further insight into the building’s many possibilities, alongside fab suppliers including Pinstripes and Peonies florist, Abigail Bloom Cake Company, Mark Bothwell photography, the Complete Event Hire production team, Sternberg Clarke entertainment and Eagle Eyed Bride stationers who will all be on hand to offer up their expert advice.
