BIJOU STYLES – AIRY WEDDING INSPIRATION FOR SNAP PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL
As part of SNAP Photography Festival 2015 I had the opportunity to work with wonder blogger Louise at Bloved on one of our styled areas. We invited Louise to take the element of Air and create an inspirational theme for the festival area. This space would then be used by our SNAPsters to practice what they’d learnt from the various workshops, as well as test drive Olympus equipment. Obviously Louise’s resulting airy wedding style board was sensational “inspired by it’s unpredictability, swirling storms, thunder clouds and dense fog to soft breezes and floating clouds…. floating, drifting away…”

You can read more about Louise’s inspiration over at Bloved. When it came to interpreting the board given the space available (inside a camping dome) I felt that we needed to keep the colour palette light like a soft breeze, focusing on the airy wedding elements. I hope you like the resulting look and perhaps you might find inspiration for your big day. I started with using swathes of fabrics, ribbons and glitter dipped feathers to create a hanging installation over our wedding breakfast table.
If you have adequate beams or spaces at your wedding venue, fabric strips and ribbons can be so effective… and super pretty. On the table I used more glitter dipped feathers for place setting decorations with mercury glass votives and vases full of soft, delicate white blooms.
Superstar stationer Sincerely May created this dreamy stationery suite. The ombre effect with white calligraphy is so fresh.
I also had an idea to create a hanging table plan using long strips of ribbon with luggage tags and feathers.
Our model wore a beautiful soft blue wedding dress by Katya Katya Shehurina. The large ribbon tied bouquet by Early Hours in white makes the blue more noticeable. Styled with a messy fishtail braid and looped silver chain worn to one side, the overall effect is airy and relaxed.
Big thanks to Louise for her inspiration, all the amazing suppliers who contributed and the lovely Lydia Stamps for capturing it all so beautifully. To be the first to hear about SNAP 2016, head to – www.snapphotofestival.com
